Agro-Environment Schemes

In the research area ‘Agri-Environment Schemes’, we develop and test concepts that are aimed at conserving and promoting biological diversity in agricultural ecosystems. Further, we assess the impact of agricultural land use intensity and landscape structure on biodiversity, and investigate the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. Based on our findings, we derive practical policy recommendations that could be used for both, refining existing agri-environment schemes and formulating new options that are aimed at conserving biodiversity.
