Institute of Wood Technology and Wood Biology

    • Wood has experienced a multifaceted renaissance within the 21st century. It has remained  indispensable as basic material, for construction and as a fuel. Wood is renewable, it acts as a carbon sink and constitutes a requested source for biobased high-valued products.
    • Our scientists do research all around a sustainable use of wood and its components. Our aim is a responsible, efficient, and forward-looking application of wood.
    • The results of our work provide both a basis for decision-making aids for politics and support consumer protection as well as economy.
