The National Forest Inventory is a large-scale inventory on a sample basis. It provides an overview of the large-scale forest conditions and the potential forest production. The inventory has to be carried out nationwide every ten years.

Intensive Forest Monitoring (Level II)
Intensive Forest Monitoring (Level II) studies the cause-effect relationships between the condition of forest trees on one hand, and the condition of nutrition and soil as well as atmospheric deposition and climate on the other hand.
